Paper Bird is Anna Kohl Weis, born in 1984, who writes, records and designs her work as a one-woman-factory. Sounds and words have been emerging from her Vienna homebase since early 2005. This intimacy has become an important part of Paper Bird live gigs, where songs are stripped down to their basic elements or performed karaoke-like to samples, often while wandering among the audience. Paper Bird ist –most of all – a storyteller, heavily influenced by the books, movies, records, television shows and pictures that surround her workspace and life.
