This week a reader wrote me and asked: Why do you write
for Suicide Girls? Seriously, why? I think when writing a renowned Zen teacher for a soft porn site, the consequences for him. Explain us your views, is your idea of skillful means [Upaya] or what? Someone gets rich trying to use lower appetites and it looks as if you'll support the Zen. I do not understand how you come to it. Who cares how many piercings or tattoos they have, it is still Internet pornography. They understand it better than most other porn sites to give people the feeling it was in order. When I here began to write, I expected a lot of such reactions. But until now I still have not received very many. One guy compared my writing for Suicide Girls so as Shunryu Suzuki had in the seventies written for Hustler. I find this a bit excessive. But since there maybe a few others out there who think so, though not necessarily quite as much drama ("I do not understand how you come to this?" Man, sitting a little zazen, relax ...) I thought I answered it once.
As for the accusation that someone would richly served by lower desires, many people get rich by serving low desires. And many people would be unemployed if this were not so. If something sells, which is an indication that people want to see these same side of their collective consciousness. I have much bigger problems to which the lower appetite in some Buddhist magazines to be served, as here you are. If I run ads for "immediate enlightenment seminars" or "Meditation devices" see, I wonder if everything I say about Buddhism as a support will be considered for this garbage. Here I can at least be reasonably certain that most readers think not, I would commend naked breasts - not that I would have any problems with bare breasts. It is easy to sell just that there is no direct association with the other things the Suicide Girls, as they are at mesh, who call themselves "Buddhist". (What do is not to say that all or even a large part of what is known as "Buddhism" is a fraud. But there are some stitches.)

I have long felt that Buddhism in the scrap heap "hippie philosophies that did not work in the sixties, why worry now about her," because he was portrayed as incredibly bad, especially from people who do not have the slightest idea.
